Racking system Example

Racking system

Our terrariums can be stacked or used as part of a racking system.

Nothing is visible above the top of the terrarium thanks to the pre built accessory (heating bulbs, lights…) locations.

“Stacking” installation instructions follow :

It is important to consider animal sizes and species when planning stacked displays.

  • 60cm and 70cm deep terrariums can be stacked upto a maximum of four.
  • When using terrariums that are more than 70cm deep (HTB150 and HTB180), it is advised not to stack more than three to allow ease of cleaning and animal access.
  • If possible, always put the smaller terrariums on top. For safety reasons, big terrariums designed for larger animals must not be stacked up by more than three and must be installed on a 45cm high base. Handling and care will be greatly facilitated and risks will be limited.
  • It is generally best to put calmer and easy to handle animals on the first and last level of your installation.
  • It can be usefull to fit wheels (with brakes) to your racking. This can greatly assist when you need to move the rack, change any bulbs or even to help with retrieving escapees.

All models (except for the HTA060 and the HTB060) are equipped with  sealed recessed connecting holes. It is possible with the use of a wooden dowel to securely connect terrariums to each other.

Foam strips under the terrarium will add grip if placed on a smooth surface.

It is also possible to combine different models on the same display. If you stack terrariums without  a framework or rack system, always place deepest ones on the bottom and narrow ones on the top in order to ensure stability.

Here are some possible combinations:

on HTB180  :

  • two HTB090 or HTA090,
  • three HTB060 or HTCS060,
  • one HTB060 and one HTB120

on   HTB150 :

  • one HTB090 or one HTA090
  • one HTB060 or HTA060.

IMPORTANT

  • Think about insulation! Insulation panels can be placed between terrariums to avoid heat transfer. This will minimise any thermal transfer from lower to higher levels.
  • It is highly recommended that you use insulating panels if you heat your terrariums with higher temperature bulbs or ceramics.  Insulation is the key to  well planned temperature regulation in a terrarium.
