Airboy does Osaka

Airboy Does Osaka | HQ from Airboy Sodwee on Vimeo.

So here we are, in the bus taking us back to the airport. The girls are behind yapping away like it’s not permitted. Gossiping in their own langage : Japanese. I can only take so much so I got the laptop out with some good background music to write something for the 45 minutes ride from central Osaka to Kansai Intl.

The stay was amazing. Set in a beautiful hotel, felt like Lost In Translation all over again, without Johansson to spare me a few good lines.  I saw a lot of locals, power walking to their day jobs, power walking back home for supper and power walking to visit the ancient castle I went to. Osaka Castle to be precise, or Osaka-jo in Japanese. One thing I’ve noticed is the huge number of bicycles around. The town itself is very flat, allowing the seniors to wonder around on two wheels with their sunbrella fixed on their bike. Another crazy sight.

But the most entertaining part of the layover was most probably walking around the town for around 5 hours. Got a face tan along the way too. Mini-shops Japanese style, tiny streets with grocery stores all along and what have you. Loved it to bit. Also walking by the most outrageously dressed teens was a show to itself. Dressed in crazy colors, with Mount Fuji hair dos and stuff.

But I think what I’ll take away with me, as sad as I am, would be the amazing lavatories they have. With seat warmers, sprinklers and steam nozzles to make sure you leave the restroom nice and clean ! I made sure I played with them also, you can check out the video above for a glance at what I like to play with.

I should be coming back to Osaka in 3 days, leaving me some time to recover from the 10 hour flight and organize something like a day trip to Kyoto. I will leave you with the pictures and the video. Until then goodbye and have a nice day !
