After studying the google analytics thoroughly in Kuala Lumpur – I had nothing else to do – I discovered people were kinda lost when it came to click through links once they landed on the main front page. Before I made the little tweaks (that you can now see), we used to have so many links to categories and tags which were absolutely misleading for the unexperienced visitor. Well, to make things a little clearer and hopefully more straightforward, we have decreased the size of the less important links on the index page to focus on the creme de la creme (ie, blog post titles). Now all you have to do to get to a post is either click on its title (big bold text) or the “click here to read more” link… You can also click on “permalink” which stands for Permanent link, but this will be more relevant to bloggers out there (it’s the hard link to the post, the link that will never change)…
[update] : We just went crazy and added a little flickering thingy when you mouse over the titles on the front page. We likes muchooos. What to you think ?
In other news, KL was ok. Boring towards the end as I burnt my card on T-shirts and useless crap. But I’m happy with what I got. Especially that alarm clock. Very Daft Punk era. Very cubical. LOVE IT ! The amazing shop I got this kinky clock is called Molecules and is situated in the big shopping mall down the street fromt Bukit Bintang aerotrain station. Follow the crowds and you’ll find it no problem. The shop itself is located at the top floor of the mall. Ask reception if you can’t find it ! They have some cool stuff in there. You better have some money to spend too, cause it doesn’t come cheap. I especially like the range of crazy wall clocks they have in there !
As mentioned in the previous post, I did buy some earphones, but didn’t find the ones I wanted… So I opted for the uber-boring iPod earphones. If I come across a nice shop with good headphones I will let you know. The other day I dribbled in front of a Bose pair. But was wise enough to let those slip through my hands. Maybe for Profit Share month !!
The day carried on with Ionna who was crewing the same trip as I. She was looking for some shoes so we headed to Bukit Bintang by foot, doing the usual stop over at Petronas towers for a few facebook pictures and then stormed the shops around the busy roads. The weather was atrocious. Very humid. 94% with an average of 27 degrees Celsius. I was happy landing back in Dubai this morning ! Kuala Lumpur is fun for 30 hours max. The rest is just plain boredom, unless you know where to go and have friends to hang out with. The FO told me there was a very special tree with millions of Fireflies making it look like a christmas tree, but one needs a care or some sort of transportation + motivation to go there. Of course I ditched that for Penne Bolognese and Häagen Dazs – Cookies & Cream. Pure delicassy in my opinion ! In the 50 hours I was there I did have a “Club Sodweech” but it doesn’t deserve a mention here sorry. The thing was…. erm…puke on a stylish square plate !
Can I also mention that a flock of canadians have arrived in Dub-Dub in the last week or so. And they have blogs ! Please, let me introduce Carine and Clauderic who have successfully made the move over here in the sandpit. By the look of things they are enjoying themselves. With the lack of internet in the first months, they haven’t blogged anything about their debut. Yet. Check them out and add them to your favourites !
I’m looking forward to the Zurich layover, I in desperate need of Chocolate. So what better place to dive into my favourite seasonal sweet ! If you have any suggestions on what to do in Zurich, please drop me a line in the comment section below. Not only will it help me, it might just help the hundreds that follow this blog ! Cheers all.
Peace out !

My suggestion for Zurich is to spend about 50-60 francs at Sprungli. In comparison, the Truffle du Jour makes Lindt taste like scrapings from the toilet bowl. Has a shelf life of only 3 days or so due to the freshness of the cream, and whilst I’m more partial to the dark chocolate ones, the milk and white chocolate is also quite nice. They also have there Luxembrugli, tiny merigne sandwich thingos perfect with a cup of tea and very much suited to a sugar junkie such as yourself. Also has some bircher Museli, about 8 francs a tub, I try to bring about 3 tubs back to DXB but end up eating half of it before leaving ZRH anyways. You should totally head there in the morning and have breakfast at the store on the Bahnhofstrasse, really nice hot chocolate too from memory
If you can’t be bothered they also have a store in Duty Free just outside the EK gate, but selection there is very limited.
Gruezi !!
At the time I was still a cabin crew flying Air Mauritius, I remembered I used to go the Uetilberg-to have a nice view of the whole city especially at this time of the year!! The second day was for the rainforest in the Zurich zoo. And top of the icing at bar at night before ending the nite at some erotic lounge XD.
Enjoy urself there. A nice city with so many luxury things to buy not those china-made ware. And very good dining too. Plus the Gurls!
