Straight from my Colombo room : Hey ! It’s been a long time cooking, but I have 5 new cover for your listening pleasure. Chill out, pour yourself a Gin and lay back. We’ve got some pretty amazing stuff today including a cover of Beyonce’s uber-hot Single Ladies track, redone by Mr Little Jeans in such a nice way ! They’ve kept the pounding drums and claps, but tried something different on the vocals. Me likey ! Otherwise I highly recommend the Portishead cover for it’s hawtness ! The rest I let you discover ! Amy Winehouse is supposed to be recording her third album, she has been cleaning up her act in St Lucia for the past two month and is set to rent out a recording studio in neighbouring Jamaica. That’s getting her a little closer to her demons… But we hope for the best !

BB King is set to come out of retirement and play a series of UK gigs this summer. The 83 year-old guitar legend will return to Britain for four arena shows in June.

Pete Doherty is set to give a talk to students at the Trinity College in Dublin on Friday (February 4). The Babyshambles man will be a guest of The University Philosophical Society, following in the footsteps of past speakers at the college, including Oscar Wilde, former Presidential hopeful John McCain, ‘Dracula’ author Bram Stoker and actress Helen Mirren. According to the university website, Tcdphil.com, Doherty will discuss, “Life, love and much more”.  Attendees will be able to ask the Libertine questions as part of the talk.

Prince launched his new website by playing a private gig at his Los Angeles home at the weekend (January 31). The show witnessed by a handful of competition winners, journalists – including NME.COM and invited guests including soul singer Anita Baker and Prince’s protégée Bria Valente, saw the “purple one” perform a mammoth set with a full band in the basement of his Beverley Park mansion until around 3am (PST). Songs Prince played included ‘Controversy’, ‘I Feel For You’, ‘Alphabet Street’, ‘Guitar’ and covers of ‘Le Freak’ by , ‘Stand’ by Sly And The Family Stone and The Rolling Stones‘Miss You’.

Nas has revealed that he has worked on a track with Dr. Dre, set for the latter’s forthcoming album ‘Detox’. The rapper did not give a title for the song, but told Billboard that it sounded “crazy”. “I did a joint, I think it’s crazy,” Nas said, before saying he’d like to take the collaboration with Dr. Dre further. “He’s [Dre] someone I would love to do a full album with one day,” he added. “I think he is the best producer of all time.” A release date for ‘Detox’ is yet to be confirmed. Other artists likely to appear on it include 50 Cent, Eminem, Lloyd Banks and Mary J. Blige.
