Four months into the year already. Can’t believe how fast it went since that debauchery on New Year Eve. Thankfully, I’ve recovered since and been a busy bee. As you’ve might of read already. My April roster is out, you can have all the details if you scroll down a little. I will also post it on the frontpage so you can know where I’m at whenever you log on. I did bid for NCE (Nice), BKK (Bangkok) and VCE (Venice) this month, looks like they’re on a cold blooded vengeance.
So “the computer” hit me with no less than 5 turnarounds for my Top Bid month (which is the month I’m supposed to be able to bid for nice flights and actually get them). Three of those flights going to India and back. Two of them being red-eyes followed closely by a daytime duty. Not the best for ones circadian rhythms… I did, however get ONE and lonely Nice 48hrs which I’m happy about because I’ll get a decent amount of moolaaah for the trip aswell as a BKK (Bangkok) which I’m truly hoping to swap in a bundle with 2/3 turnarounds. Did I mention I was also going to beautiful Jeddah, Doha and my Monthly Bombay/Mumbai !! Awwww gimme a rope ! NOW ! The worst thing about this roster is the 6 days in a row of flying. Because, in reality I don’t mind working a Doha or a Jeddah, but the accumulation here just kills the joy. Especially when it comes to Red-eye flights. So I’m more concerned over my health more than the flights themselves.
Yesterday I got up real early, at around 6am, and walked half awake to my computer in the living room. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a bottle of Brazilian Cachaca standing on the table with a little note from Ka, my flatmate. I will now be able to do caipirinhas !! Yeepeee! So yeah, this also means Kalil came back from his leave which is good for me because the flat felt empty for 2 weeks. It’s always nice to have company around or at least know you’re not alone. Can’t wait to catch up on all the goss… I also felt the extreme urge to mop the flat. I did so. Then I saw Kalil’s steam machine, to clean all sorts of surfaces. I used that too for around 1 hour and managed to clean all the mugs, the cupboard and generally around the flat. I feel so good about myself now. Very satisfied ! I now need to tackle the bedroom, which looks like a dump at the moment.
In other news, I haven’t heard from Melissa from TampaxTowers in a while, even on Facebook [update : she has surfaced and sends her love]. My guess is that she has moved out to her new accomodation on the other side of Dubai, near Sharjah (close to the jetski place we went to), and that she doesn’t have her internet connection set up yet. You know how Etisalat react when it comes to anything Customer Service… Basically they suck major hell. Hopefully she’ll get hooked up soon so we can get some updated and gossip !
The good news is that I have my leave planned out. I ditched any exotic destinations to save on the money and try to get my driving license here instead, aswell as saving for some kinky wheels. So I’ll most probably be heading for good ol’ Paris for a week. And for those of you who are wondering what SEP stands for in the roster… It’s my recurrent training. Refresher if you will. I’ll be tested and evaluated and ordered fit to fly/knowledgeable to fly…. I just hope they don’t flog me with another turnaround straight after that.
