I think it was time for me to thank my readers. Without visitors and growing popularity this blog wouldn’t exist or last as long. 366 blog entries later, I’m still here enjoying sharing some valuable information, my rants, some cool music and my cheap looking videos. I love maintaining websites as you may discovered. But having thousands log on everyday is what makes it so special for me. Aside from the blog, I have received an incredible amount of emails and thought I’d share some of it with you guys. Thanks to Gmail, I’m able to store all these nicely ! In no particular order, sorry if I haven’t included everyone, but somehow, my fingers get tired of copy and paste manoeuvers…. Also to give you a rough idea of who visits the blog, I took a screen capture of my visitors map. It’s pretty much all over the place :
And since the 1st of January 2009 we have topped 160,000 pageviews, over 40,000 visitors. You guys spend on average 3 minutes and 19 seconds on the blog. Most of you come back between 9 to 14 times and 53% of all visitors are new ones ! Can’t be happier with those results ! I also follow the successful Emirates joiners when they send me their updates (thinking of Louis, Rihanna, Britney and many others), it’s always a pleasure ! Thanks again for your loyalty and now onto these funny emails :

Ciao Airboy!
I love checking on your site. It is awesome wherein I can learn a lot of things with the in and outs of aviation life. However, when you mentioned about day-off..how often do you get it? Do you also enjoy a week off in a month?Just a curious me, hope to hear from you soon!
Keep up the airboy rules! =)
From Alex :
Hi there mate,
I really like your blog..very interesting, i think it’s very helpful for all CC wannabes. I wanted to ask you a quick question regarding tattoos. I’m headhing to the final interview in about one month. I have a small kanji tattoo on my upper forearm (almost close to the elbow, probably 1.5cm on each side) and also a tattoo on my calf (right in the middle of the knee and ankle). Do you think this may be of any problem? I’m really afraid of resigning to my current job and then getting rejected in Dubai!!
Please let me know! Thanks again and congratulations for the blog!
Alex
From Casey :

Hey airboy! Before starting let me give you my most sincere CONGRATULATIONS!!Your blog is outgrageous ….you deserve every person who visits .. your ability to innovate, to let us release a spontanously big laugh with your comments, to impress us with your mad montages of video, your kindness to share with us your wild aventures around the world, your great music and the extremely useful information content……surprise me to each comment i read!! I am a Portuguese and your future co-worker ….At 20 February i’m going to the greatest adventure of my life!(you know how its the feeling, don’t you!?) your blog helped me to get to know the environment around Emirates,Dubai and the friendship that you all have….and of course to becoming increasingly anxious with the turnaround that my life is going to have!! I am a faithful reader of your blog .. but .. . only now i decide to send message, just because i don’t have much to said, unless i’m an Airboy blog’s fan and a future member of ‘Emirates family’ ( as thousands of people said to you!)…so… I hope to met you or work with you trough any skies of this world….!!
Keep up with the good work as i keep as faithful reader!!!

From Markus :
Hy Sodwee,
Well you got us hooked and by us I mean me and my boss. We can’t work without listening to your posted mix Al Ghadeer 003 from DJ Rafa Ferrero any more. I tried to download it from your page several times but after 10 to 20min. the download ends. Is there a way I can get hold of the entire mix? I want to keep on listening to that mix outside of my office and so does my boss. And are there some more mixes from that very gifted DJ around?
Best wishes from Zurich,
Have a nice weekend wherever you may fly…

Hi Ben
have been an avid follower of your postings since comming across airboy at new year. Gotta thank you for your postings at the time as they helped immensely when there was so little other information.
Your web site is excellent and a great read.
Loved the whole Mauritius thing as my wife was born there and we hope to make it back some time soon.
Would have liked to shout you a drink the next time you were down to count sheep in Christchurch but they have swapped this to a turn around so who knows–maybe one day as SLF
regards

Hey mate, greets from Paraguay. I just wanted to say thank you for adding me. I was reading your blog some time ago since I’m very interested in applying for a job (cabin crew) with Emirates airlines. I found your blog very useful, specially the FAQ about EK, and the joining process as well. I might havesome questions about it, but I don’t want to bother you now. I know that you must be busy travelling. So, maybe for next time. Thanks again, and be cool!
Cheers!

From Simone :
Hi Sodwee,
I came across your blog as I researched the idea I have been entertaining of returning to flying. I flew for UAL for five years (D.C. and Frankfurt base) and returned to school to finish a second degree after 9/11. From what I read, you are enjoying your experience. I think the opportunity of getting all that youthful energy out of your system to see the world is truly a blessing. Many people spend their 20s stuck in an office, only to retire and wonder what happened to their lives.
Keep up the great work with your blog. If you ever head to Miami, I will be happy to show you around town.
Merci et a bientot,
Simone

Yeah that trailer on “Sodwee” was classic! But it does not seem to have that stereo kick a$$ sound like your other videos do…(Either that or my volume was low)
