Ever since Oz bluetoothed this track to me yesterday, I haven’t stopped playing it. It’s desperately catchy, insanely groovy and the 80’s synth-electro-rock-pop sound of the whole deal makes me wanna… boogie.
Chromeo is a Montreal based electrofunk duo whose music is described as “a shameless return to the glistening, sex-saturated synth-pop which ruled the eighties.”
The duo is composed of P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) on keyboards, synthesizers, and talk box, and Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) on guitar and lead vocals. The two childhood friends jokingly describe themselves as “the only successful Arab/Jewis partnership since the dawn of human culture.”
Highlights of their 2004 debut album She’s in Control include the club tracks “Needy Girl”, “Mercury Tears”, “Rage!”, and “Destination: Overdrive”. In 2005, Chromeo released a mix cd of funky dance tracks on Eskimo Belgium records entitled Un Joli Mix Pour Toi (A Pretty Mix For You). During early 2007 Chromeo supported indie rock group Bloc Party on their British tour. They also released the single “Fancy Footwork” as well as their second album of the same name. The band has also been named MTV’s Artist of the Week for October 1 2007.
Guitarist and lead singer David Macklovitch is the older brother of A-Trak (Alain Macklovitch).
Otherwise, I’m about to move out of Blue Building and will supposedly do so on the 18th of June (in roughly a week) unless Accommodation thinks otherwise. I already have a feeling they will move my bed and appliances on the 11th (a week before I move out) so I might be sleeping on the floor until I move in my next apartment. It’s hectic. Communication between us crew moving out and managers + accommodation is pretty much dismal. Leaving us to run around for information when they could simply and effectively send out an email to the crew concerned and give insightful information about “how to”, “when” and “why”. The latest bad news we managed to squeeze out of them is the fact we are keeping the beds and appliances we have here in our old apartments. They will send in a couple movers in to shift them to our new flats on the other side of town.
I haven’t packed or boxed anything yet and it’s getting stressful. I’m off to Bombay tomorrow and will not know if I will have a bed tomorrow night.
Finally I’m really excited to be wearing the new uniform for the first time. Can’t wait. I’m also supposed to post a whole Airboy does Paris entry but haven’t come round it yet. I have video and pictures ready but the writting is lacking serious inspiration. Hope you’re well wherever you are today. Speak to you soon !

How about I inspire your lack of inspiration to write about Paris, by being the first to comment!! Forget the boxes to pack, and stay awake all night and do the report. (That way you don’t have to worry about sleeping on the hard floor when you get back from Bombay. LOL
