I Need Wheels, hot wheels !!
I’m so jealous of that little bastard of a kid in that picture. I want one of those bikes. One of those uber-cool, uber-retro, uber-60’s, uber-70’s bicycle ! I need wheels, desperately. I’m now living in a relatively bike-safe part of Dubai and eager to discover the greens, go to the supermarket and look so damn cool doing so. Imagine yourself on one of those ! Street-cred just goes through the roof !!!! Ahhhhhhhhh If ANYONE READING THIS AND IS IN DUBAI AND OWNS ONE OF THESE RALEIGH CHOPPER BIKES, YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME ASAP !
Ever since E.T. (and the famous bike chase, and the flying over the moon part), I wanted one of them. How fucking cool do they look ?? The one pictured above even has suspension in the front! To die for I say !
Anyway. Until I find this rarity, I think I’m gonna for a more down to earth pushbike. Something foldable. Oz already has Jeannie (a yellow foldup bike) and says he’s happy with it. So I might have to head to Karama (cheap market place and little shops selling everything and anything) and purchase one for myself.
We’re getting to the settling part of the move. Oli has just moved in after another hectic day ! Still no internet nor phone at home, so I’m at EGHQ juicing some broadband on Emirates account mwahahahah.

Daniel (Panda) was asking why I didn’t update my blog for a while… It’s just that I haven’t got internet anymore so it’s a right headache getting the pick-up bus and riding all the way down here ! But soon enough we will get hooked up with some high-speed connection and will be blogging away !
We also nearly had a meetup with Melissa from TampaxTower today but with the move of the flatmate and the shit I needed to do, I had to call it a day. We have plans for another meetup towards the end of the month. Hopefully this will work out better.
Mother, you’ll be pleased. I have (for the first time) bought food and groceries from Carrefour. Rice, pasta, FRUITS!, SPUDS!, and a hell a lot more crap. Along with biscuits and sodas. Really can’t get away from them ! Might have some penne bolognese tonight if anyone cares about my diet !

Dude, that’s not a Raleigh chopper bike. It’s a Schwinn Orange Crate. I know. My best friend owned one in Seabrook, Texas USA in 1970.

i dont think in dubai they sell such amazing bicycletas but im sure in one of your travels you will find one.

I used to want a bike with beads on the spokes that went ‘ting ting ting’ when the wheels went round. Had to go for the low-rent version of a playing card & clothes peg! Oh yeah and any cool kid had ribbons on the handles! Ah the good old days… hehe
