The Birthday Aftermath

Ok, so I’m 24. No big deal really. Just another excuse to dive into a giant ice filled tumbler and swim endlessly until you finish the contents (in this case : astonishing amounts of Bacardi Coke. My very own jetfuel). Another night of foolish antics and a heavy hangover to deal with today. I got up pretty early at around 12 to the sound of Oz’s music. The soundtrack of Rock’n'Rolla. Pretty decent shit I must say. My eyes were red, my swagger wasn’t 100% assured but I still had some brains left. Which, after all, is a good sign. Listened to more music, bluetoothed some over and back from my flatmates computer and decided to rock out to check on my Facebook account as well as update the blog with those pithy words.

It started yesterday with Jeri, who’s my neighbor here in TECOM building and she had plans to go boogie over to some persian tunes in Quantum club just above ZINC. I’m never too far from my favourite watering hole… The night was crazy there. I was the only blond guy in the place. It was packed with Iranians and their misses. All decked out in extravagant fuck-me pumps and sporting some hilarious hair-dos. I had a ruddy ol’ time wiggling my backside to the music. Daydreaming in the laser strobes and stuff. At one point I was missing ZINC so I popped down the escalators and got in there only to find another bunch of mates and drink even more.

Finished at Burger King as you do. High on the Chicken Royale and another happy crowd with no other than Rodriguo whom I must thank for getting me the meal as a birthday present ! Subsequently, my hangover was less of a horror picture.

Here are some pictures of people who WERE NOT at my birthday celebrations :

Otherwise, I’ll be jetting to Athens tomorrow so I can stock up on pure Olive Oil from the airport and then straight back to Dubai. I had a call today from DU broadband services and as surprising as it may sound, they have sorted the issue with us no being able to share the internet connection in our flat. So, if everything goes to plan, which I seriously doubt knowing how ISPs here in Dubai tend to deal with their customers, I should be hooked to some extra high speed fiber optic internet by the 7th of October. Which is like 4 month since we first moved in. We still don’t have any landline. But quite frankly, I don’t give a flying crap, so long as I have my beloved Skype and a decent connection to be able to upload the piles of crap I need to upload, I’m a happy man. So yeah, stay tuned for some happy browsing in the next month.

On the 4th I’ll be in Paris, France catching up on the goss with Mother and Father. Can’t wait. Looking forward to that. BrotherOsSodwee has already left home for some other adventures over the pond to Wales, where he’ll hopefully find a job and learn how to drive. It’s much cheaper in the UK apparently. France is just a rip off in all aspects.

That’s about it. Maybe you missed it, but I must thank Scott for pluging the blog in one of his article on the Examiner.com. And we have some pretty good stuff coming up in the next podcast. We’ll hopefully roll that out in October sometime.

Peace out fools. Have a good day.
