All other charges from your place to the closest Emirates Destination Aiport will be at your sole charge.

Yes, once you land into Dubai International Airport, you'll be greeted by the Marhaba Girls, they'll be dressed in Yellow and will cruise you through the airport customs with priority so you don't have to wait in the queues. They will then lead you to pick up your luggage and proceed to an Emirates HR representative. You'll be asked to give your passport and give your details. That same Emirates rep will then hand you over to the driver who in turn will take you to your accomodation.

How long does it take to get an answer after my Final Interview ?

The whole process should take around 4 to 7 weeks. You'll get a call from Human Resources and they will tell you that you're successful. If you're not successful, you are most likely to receive an email within 2 weeks after Final Interview. Depending on how busy the Recruiting team is, these can be delayed. Don't panic, instead call them after 6 weeks and ask about the progress.

When I call Emirates HR, I always get the answering machine ! How do I speak to a real person ?

Ahah, the trick is : wait for the robot to say, "press 0 (zero) for assistance", you'll then be directed to a desk. Ask them to transfer you to "CC new joiners". They will be the one taking care of your file.

  20. Rating: +0

    Positive Negative

How long it takes to get another response from them, once you send the med exams?

Shouldn't be too long if your medical file is complete. However, if they're missing something, they will most likely put your file to one side. If you don't get any call or email from them after 3 weeks and your joining date is getting closer, please do give them a call and ask. They deal with hundreds of files each week and can get lost sometimes. Persist in calling if you don't get through.

You speak English, Arabic, Portuguese, French, Hindi, Japanese & have a diploma in customer service + 15 years with an international brand working in a team environment, most probably as a team leader. Then you have a lot of chances !

After my final interview, I wasn't selected. I wonder whether I have any chances for future application and whether I can reach the finals again?!

If you are married, this is probably why. Emirates only try to hire "Single" cabin crew. This is due to the cost of having to fly an entire family over and accomodating them when they can only fly & accomodate one person. They do not check for your swimming at interviews (unless stated otherwise). But once in training you are expected to be able to swim a little at least (enough to reach a slide-raft, meaning around 25 metres), they will check it during a planned emergency called Ditching, where you'll be sent into the freezing cold water of the pool.... Otherwise, recall your interview, if you were overconfident, that's probably another reason. Yet again I DO NOT HAVE THE CRITERIAS, so this is a hard question to answer !

I have two tattoos that you cannot see whilst wearing a uniform.I heard that they will ask you if you have any on the interview (you can see the tattoo on a medical visit).Do you know of any EK Flight Attendant with tattoos? Should I lie and cover them?

A tattoo with Emirates is OK, only and ONLY IF it is below neck meaning underneath the collar (further away from collar the better) and above knees. Tattoos should NOT appear at any time under any circumstances. YES they will ask you if you have any tattoos during the interview, this is for post-mortem issues as they say. But of course it is also for them to know if it's OK. Yes many crew here have tattoos. Two girls from my batch got sent home (yes sent back to their home country) after the medical visit because their tattoo was showing and they didn't say. So be sure to say you have a tattoo or else try your luck, but don't blame them if they find out !

This is an illustration to show you exactly where you can have tattoos without worrying too much. Of course, the green part is the OK zone for tattoos. On the other hand, the red zone is the NO GO zone :

You have to reach 212 centimetres at least to be elligible for an application with Emirates Airline. I don't know the minimum requirements for other airlines.

I wanted to ask if i can apply in Emirates, if my age now is 23 and if they are accepting underweight, my height is 5'5 but my weight is only 50 kg, it is not really proportional...

As Cabin Crew you must be fit to work long hours, be able to operate heavy doors, lift, shift and carry heavy stuff. Seek advice from your General Practician to know if you're fit to work as Cabin Crew. Emirates is not likely to hire underweight people.

ANY IDEA HOW MUCH SALARY I WILL BE MAKING A MONTH (APPROX) AND HOW CAN I ADVANCE TO BUSINESS AND ECONOMY CLASS AND DOES YOUR TRAINING EXAM RESULTS DETERMINE YOUR FIRST FLIGHT

The basic salary you'll get each month is 3985 Dihrams. Add to this your flying pay at 53.50 Dihrams per hour. A average month is around 80 hours. Also you allowances you entitled to at every layover (an example 600 dhs for a 24 hour Paris CDG). Your flat is payed for, as well as your water and electricity bills. Transportation to and from work is also provided.

As for promotion depending on your sick days pattern, absences and performance, you should get promotion after 12 motnhs for each stage. So in theory you could become purser within 4 years !

Finally your training results do not affect your first flight. You'll start with 2 Turnarounds do close by cities then it could be anywhere !

Does one need to do private cabin crew training before coming for the interview. If someone is 5'7 and weighs 59 kgs is it ok. What would be the ideal weight and height.

Do your medicals have to be 100% perfect ? I'm almost ready to submit mine and there are 1 or 2 things that concern me that will concern them... And during flights do I have to clean puke & poop ?

NO. some areas are more important than others like Heart issues, eye sight etc. You have a detailed form with all the medical requirements that you're doctor should sign and approve you "FIT TO FLY". If he didn't any problems then you are fine !

For the other question, so far haven't dealt with such issue, but in the event of puke we have SOLIDIZER, we sprinkle the designated area and the puke will turn into gelatine like substance, in turn very easy to pick up and also kills the smells. It's part of your job to ensure a clean, safe and frendly environment for yourself as well as for the passengers. You wouldn't leave a puke in the middle of the aisle anyway, or would you?

Have you heard of anyone being sent back to their home country because they failed the medical exams in Dubai? How strict are they with the medicals? What do they usually test and do you need perfect vision?

How long does the hiring process take?

Depends on how fast they want to hire, apparently these days, after final interview at the open day, they call the successful applicant within 3 weeks. Otherwise, bases on my experience, I waited 6 weeks for them to call me back. Then there's all the documents to produce and send to them, that will take you around 3 weeks in all. They will then decide a departure date for you, usually 1-2 months after they called you and said your were successful

I registered online for Dublin’s Open Day the 22 of August, basically just included putting all my information on their main Emirates website. I was wondering if I should expect a replay from them or if it would be OK to pitch up the date of the Open Day? I am travelling a distance to be there and don’t want to be turned away. Thanks for all the advice on the site kind regards Alfred

Some applicants came to the Open Day without invitations and made it to Dubai, so I see no problem in you going there but strongly advise to go to an Open Day nearest to your home where ever possible.

This test is a series of questions based on simple facts that will highlight your social profile as well as many other aspect of your personality depending on the answers you tick. This test is not disqualifying. It is only there for the recruiters to have a quick glance at your personality and prepare for the Final Interview. The test is also known as 16PF and is widely used in corporations around the world. I even had to do one while working as a Barman with my old employer (FrogPubs in Paris) ! You can google "16PF' and you'll find a lot more information.

The training at Emirates is intensive and lasts for 6 weeks. Not counting the introduction week. You'll have 2 weeks of Security & Emergency Procedures, 1 week of First Aid Response and finally 2 weeks of In-Flight Service.
The First week will be used to finalize paperwork you've submitted prior to joining Emirates, and will introduce you to the company. On the 2nd day you will go for your uniform fitting !

SEP stands for Security & Emergency Procedures. These define the "How To's" of evacuating an aircraft during emergencies. It lasts for 2 weeks and is great fun. You get to do real emergency evacuations on full-size, rollercoaster simulators of the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A340/30.

Yes. You'll be tested for ditching, which includes an eventfull afternoon bobbing around on the slide-raft. The pool is deep, an average person won't be able to touch the bottom. You'll be wearing a Life-Jacket so don't panic, you'll float. Another thing, the pool is freezing cold. You'll be in clothing, from top to bottom. You'll have to climb back on the raft, so practice in your local pool...

  4. Rating: +0

    Is SEP training hard ?

Yes/No. Depends on your methods. There's a hell a lot of information to take on. Learning emergency drills by heart and equipment location of 5 different aircrafts. But as the days go by, you'll familiarise with all of that, and it will in turn be easier towards the end. A good dose of revisioin every night is essential.

I'm not sure about the training fees though, I think they will deduct some kind of money from the time you spent in Dubai. But for sure, in the first few weeks you won't have time to get homesick.
