No other airline has yet managed to top Air France in terms of music for adverts. And compared with Emirates music it’s lightyears ahead. We have been looking for this track all day and managed to rip it from their corporate website. So we’re sharing it here, right on the Airboy Blog. You can listen to it below and download it too. Anything you’d like to add to your intro ? Lauren : Airboy, you’ve kind of covered it all! I’ll be turning 26 next month and as this is my first experience of life outside the parental next, I frequently find myself slightly disillusioned and oddly bemused by life in our fast-paced plastic neighbourhood. A : Nice, ok so… did you know that I picked up on “Sandpit” whilst reading your blog ? L : A few people comment on that – no one really realises just how unfinished Dubai is. Everywhere I go I’m tripping over a pile of sand. Or walking around a corner and into the face of a sand storm that embeds itself in my lip gloss! I also meant it in the affectionate sense of a great big place to explore and play in – kind of like when we were kids there were so many treasures to discover in the sandpit. A : You live in what was once the tallest residencial building in the world. How does that affect your everyday life ? How long do you spend in elevator every day ? What is your view like ? L : I live on the 21st floor, so the average elevator ride takes maybe a minute or two to my floor. Not being a big fan of littered and smelly lifts, I can only spend a maximum of 5 minutes a day doing happy laps up and down the building. My view is quite nice – I look out at the Burj Dubai Tower, the Al Marooj complex and straight down at the chaos that is our beloved 12 lane highway. A : Ahah. We, at Airboy, discovered her ramblings way back when I was still serving those minted Americans at the Westin Hotel in Paris. It was back when I applied to be a Cabin Crew for Emirates and before my Open Day. I googled “Emirates Cabin Crew Blog” – as many of you do daily – and clicked the first link I saw (unfortunately for misses now, I have the first spot up there in the results mwouahahahahah). I got hooked… along with other bloggers I will try to interview later on. <a title="Click to open" href="http://tampaxtowers.blogspot.com" target="_blank">http://tampaxtowers.blogspot.com</a> Not only did I get the job. Not only did I move to Dubai 6 months ago. I even got a flat under miss M. We met a couple times already but with our messy rosters it is hard to have a chat. Melissa : Well I am supposed to be sleeping for a Doha… A : Sorry I’m pestering you during your rest… Ok, let’s carry on, you have a blog called Tampax Towers upon the internetz and it’s getting quite a fair amount of readers… How do you cope with the sudden fame ? M : I kinda had to edit some previous posts, the blog was featured in a local newspaper here and some people at work had alerted me to it, and I didn’t want to end up the next Queen of the Sky. Aside from that I haven’t had to do anything differently, anyone that has read it has been supportive and in general the response has been positive. A : Oh well, I heard you have friends in the higher spheres such as Tiger Woods, what is he like ? M : Er, I just have a photo with him taken last year during the Dubai Desert classic. He was really sweet to us girls, kept offering us chocolates from the refreshment fridges they have at every tee on the course, and got really excited when he saw there were Kit Kats in there.
